Founders
The Word of Faith and Praise Ministries Port St. Lucie, Inc. is one of two churches birthed from the loins of the late Bishop Sidney Edwards and First Lady Vilma Y. Edwards. The first church, Word of Faith and Praise Ministries of Fort Lauderdale, Florida was established in 1997. The first service was held at the Ramada Inn Resort Hotel, currently known as the Inverrary Resort Hotel located in Lauderhill, Florida. The church experienced a steady growth as God faithfully added to the church. In 2006, Bishop Edwards was led to expand the territory of the church and launched its second location here in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
Bishop Edwards transitioned to heaven on 2/1/2018 and today his legacy continues to thrive in both locations with God's abundant grace and faithfulness.
